4 out of 5 stars for Gripper in IDJ magazine
Reviews are now coming in for Gripper 'A Life of Consummate Ease' and it's going down really well, the current issue of IDJ has a great 4 out of 5 by Sarah Chapman -
"If this album were personified it'd be a develishly handsome man with a confident swagger. The kind of bloke that knows he's likely to attract attention and revels in the fact that he's going to create a buzz. He'd also be a bit unpredictable, moody at times, bright and breezy at others. Whether any of this ia a reflection on Gripper himself is questionable but what's certain is that the changing tempos and styles on this album work a treat. 'Interpreter' is a full on percussive and plinky-plonk piano work out that's like Cinematic Orchestra after one too many Red Bulls for example. But, elsewhere there's the likes of the slightly sinister 'I Love You', a deep house gem with floaty pads and a spellbinding vocal. Holding this jumble of genres together are a couple of interludes and plenty of meandering intros and spoken word sections, the result of which is a surprisingly cohesive album. Go get a Gripper. Really."

ATIC signs CROWHEAD
In a rooftop cave somewhere in rainy Manchester... ATIC finds this prize bird mincing beats and singing with golden glasses. Hailing from soulful Salford, Crowhead is the alias of legendary DJ, promoter and all round top-head, Christian Wood aka Woody. If you've ever been to Friends & Family in Manchester, chances are you've heard him play and if you've heard him play you'll know how eclectic, inventive, fat and funky his sets can be. This vibe is reflected in his first LP, a massive melange of beats, hip-hop, house and even 90's hardcore(!) that needs to be heard to be believed. Guests so far include Niko, MC Kwasi and The Rusty P's, expect something really special from this vinyl fiend and boombox collector.
